My Background

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (License #25871) and have been working in the mental health field for almost 20 years. In my early experience I worked with children in foster care and residential treatment and learned the challenges children face with multiple placements, complicated family structures, grieving significant relationships and trying to cope with a history of trauma.

Later, as a school social worker, I helped children, families, individuals and couples navigate struggles both at home and at school.  Through individual, small groups, and family therapy sessions I would address a variety of issues including bullying, peer relationships, academic challenges, problems within family, divorce and grief and loss.  I provided additional support for parents through individual and couples therapy.

In 2011, I found my passion in working for an agency facilitating domestic and international adoptions. I have enjoyed the chance to work with aspiring parents to understand the path that brought them to adoption, learn about their hopes and dreams, provide psychoeducation and then work closely with them after the complete adoption and they adjust to their new life.  Helping adopted children and their parents has been exceptionally rewarding.
